Calculations and drawings

Electrical calculations, single-line diagrams, and conductor and conduit sizing.

Troubleshooting

Diagnosis of existing systems that underperform or fail, whoever installed them.

Rewiring

Electrical work alongside a solar install, such as rewiring a garage or outbuilding.

Sizing, sourcing and integrating propane, natural gas or diesel generators.

Operations and maintenance

Monitoring, performance checks, calibration, cleaning and communications checks.

Who it’s for

DIY builders

A design, drawings or a review of your plan before you buy equipment.

Existing owners

A system that’s producing less than it should, or has stopped.

Off-grid properties

Generators, heating loads and expansions on systems that have grown over time.

Businesses

Ongoing monitoring and maintenance to keep a commercial system producing.

Technical expertise

Every solar system is an electrical system first. Grid Energy is owned by a Red Seal Journeyman Electrician who specialised in solar, so design, calculations and installation are handled by the same person who answers for them.

That matters most when something doesn’t fit the usual pattern: an older off-grid system, a rural service with unusual requirements, or a DIY build that needs checking.

“Adam and his team did an amazing job installing our PV system and re-wiring our garage – they were incredibly efficient but thorough, courteous and professional!”

Service process

  1. Tell us the problem

What you’re building, what’s failing, or what you want checked. Photos of equipment and labels help.

  2. Assessment

A site visit or a review of your plans, depending on the job.

  3. Recommendation

What we’d do and what it costs, before any work starts.

  4. The work

Design, repair, rewiring or installation by a Red Seal electrician and crew.

  5. Follow-up

Monitoring checks and maintenance visits if you want them.

Common questions

If yours isn’t here, see all questions or call.

Call 1-204-404-1590
Will you help with a system I’m building myself?

Yes. We can design the system, produce the drawings and calculations, review your plan, or troubleshoot it once it’s built. Tell us where you’re at and what you need.

Do you service systems you didn’t install?

Yes. Operations and maintenance are available for any solar system, whoever installed it.

What does monitoring show?

System software shows production and usage in real time, accessible from anywhere. It helps catch problems early, before they cost you a season of production.

Can you handle the electrical side as well?

Yes. As an electrical company we handle design, service and panel work, disconnects, conduit and conductor sizing, inspection and Manitoba Hydro interconnection, so you deal with one contractor.

Need a design, a fix or a service visit?

Describe the system and the problem. Photos of the equipment and labels help.
